The tragedy of losing a loved one is difficult, but many families find comfort in honoring the life of those they have lost by requesting memorial contributions be made to support that persons passion. Be it Public Education, Literacy, Arts or Music in Schools, Career Preparation, S.T.E.M. skills, the Northshore Community or acknowledging a career in service of education, the Northshore Schools Foundation would be honored to acknowledge the legacy of your loved one.

Through memorial contributions, family, friends, colleagues and community members can express their condolences with the action of supporting programs and services helping students and teachers in the Northshore School District.

Once the Foundation has been notified that they will be designated as the recipient of Memorial donations, the Foundation will set up a designated account for the funds to be tracked.

When a memorial gift is received at our office, we immediately send a thank you letter to the donor. A designated family member of the deceased will receive a listing of the names and addresses of all donations received. Memorials and donations will also be acknowledged on the Northshore Schools Foundation Legacy website located at

Foundation staff are always available to answer questions regarding memorial funds. The designee should expect to receive listing of donations 1 week following the memorial service or the obituary posting and then again 1 month later. At the designee’s request, or approximately 3 months after the services, the Foundation will contact the designee to set up a time to review the gifts and make final decisions about the best use of funds collected.
